I spent some time packing today to get a handle of the monstrosity of a task ahead of me--putting my life in a suitcase to take to Italy. Even after I have packed everything into my suitcase quite snuggly, I keep remembering things here and there that I still need to find and pack. I am sure repacking is in my future.
But for now... here's what i have fit into my suitcase to wear for the next 4 months...

Dresses: Four (Actually Five, I was wearing the not pictured)
Jackets: Two
Cardigans: Four
Tops: Nine
Bottoms: Three Jeans & Two Skirts
Scarves: Three
Belts: Eight (One Not Pictured)
Hair Accessories: More than I will wear, but they hardly take up room
Random Other Stuff
Plus
Some Leggings (1), tshirts (3), athletic shorts (1), tights (3), and socks/underwear galore!
Shoes I forgot to show but are packed
Boots-Two
Tennis Shoes
Black Flats
Flip Flops (for hostel showers)
I also managed to get a cutting mat, some architecture supplies, Taylor memorabilia, computer cords and such, and all my toiletries.
And what does it come to??!!!
44 lbs!!!
That's under 50! Which means I get a free checked bag. And some of this stuff went into my carry on.
Here's where I need some help: Should I--
Only take one bag? (and feel really great about it!)
Or take two so there's room for stuff to come back?

tyne, i am so very proud of you! you did a great job of packing the necessities and essentials, this is a challenging task! my advice to you would be to take two bags, speaking from experience. If you possibly can fit another bag into the big one then just take a small purse on the plane with you. (you will feel great that you're hardly bringing anything with you and also that you have another bag to bring with you on your return). or another option is always buying an incredibly bag in europe and using that as your second bag to bring back?? just some ideas. i'm so excited for you! what an adventure.
ReplyDeletep.s. say hi to my family for me!

hmm... I would say 2 if your suitcase is packing to the brim. Because you're definitely going to want to bring some stuff back.
ReplyDeleteI also think that these are all great choices of clothes to bring! It's like you're doing your own 30x30 challenge!
